“Tear-Down” Becomes Man’s Castle Complete with Office Tower – Finksburg, MD.
This project was a unique challenge—because I, Ken Pine, was the client.
Originally, the property had a large rancher, and I always knew I’d renovate it someday. A few years passed, and as I started designing the renovation, I had a realization: I was planning to touch every part of the house—so why not start from scratch?
And that’s exactly what we did. We tore everything down, from the foundation to the footings, keeping only the center beam and columns in the basement. As anyone in the industry knows, our own homes are always the last to get attention, but I was determined to finally build a home that was exactly what I wanted.
